I'll be presenting my program Voyage to Antarctica next Tuesday, November 19, at the REI Store in Olympia's Capital Mall from 6:30-8:00 PM. Travel with me through images, words and music to the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula to explore magnificent landscapes and witness the unique wildlife in the world's coldest, driest and windiest continent. I'll have advance copies of my coffee table book of photographs, Wilderness of Ice, available for preview and pre-order. The program is free, but you must register to reserve your spot. Upcoming speaking events:
Date TBD - Olympia Senior Center
February 6, 2020 - Wesley Homes, Des Moines, WA
May 13, 2010 - Mountaineers Club, Olympia Branch
May 20, 2020 - Mountaineers Club, Seattle Branch
I'm excited to announce a solo exhibit, called Venice in Black & White, opening January 2020 at the Batdorf and Bronson Coffeehouse on Capitol Way in downtown Olympia. The show features black and white photographs made during my 2017 list to Venezia. Printed on textured archival paper and hung loose like scrolls, clamped at the top and bottom by wooden frames, the photos will be exposed to all the elements of the coffeehouse - moisture, dust, fingerprints, maybe even coffee stains - just as the elegant, historic old city of Venice, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is exposed to the degradations of time, weather, the sea, and modern tourism. Join me at Batdorf's on January 16th for a Third Thursday hang-out and special slide presentation of more Venice images. Hmm, maybe I'll make a Venice book next...
Hope to see you out there!
