Notre-Dame Cathedral - "Un terrible incendie"

I was stunned and saddened to see the devastation caused by fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris today. As a photographer, traveler, student of history and architecture, American of French heritage, and practicing Christian, this is a catastrophe. On my last visit to Paris, I made this image of the nave, which thankfully still stands. I am grateful for the efforts of all those who brought the blaze under control, and share the grief of the French. May the rebuilding, which will take years - perhaps decades - begin tomorrow.
